2026.05.13 — build v1.0.0 · public launch
Initial publication of the Appvella directory. Every link verified against the publisher's official URL on the day of launch. Index pulled from /assets/data/apps.json; build script pins all releases.
2026.05.10 — pre-launch sweep
Removed two products that were ad-supported in their installer (kept the open-source equivalents). Confirmed that all 43 remaining entries either ship without bundleware or expose a checkbox to opt-out.
2026.05.08 — Categories & Cloud
First entries: Dropbox, Google Drive for desktop. Both link straight to the official installer page. We deliberately skipped Backup & Sync (deprecated) and Drive File Stream (replaced).
2026.05.05 — Security & Privacy refresh
KeePassXC is the actively maintained cross-platform fork. Both vaults are file-compatible, so there's no migration cost.
2026.05.03 — Image & Design
Both link to the publisher's release page rather than direct binaries — the publishers prefer it because users see release notes alongside the download.
2026.04.28 — Developer Tools
VS Code, Git for Windows, Node.js, Python, Docker Desktop, Postman. All point at the official Windows download index for each project.
2026.04.25 — Productivity
Started with LibreOffice, Notion, Obsidian, Joplin, Thunderbird. Notion was added with a note about its freemium tier — link still goes to the official desktop page, not a referral mirror.
2026.04.20 — Browsers
Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Opera, Edge. Each link audited against the publisher's canonical URL.
